Shipping and Moving
When shipping your household goods using a traditional moving service, you will not be required to palletize or crate your shipment. However, you should make sure to double check with your shipping company for advice on preparing your shipment. Moving companies typically offer different types of moving services.
The two major types of services you will encounter when shipping household goods are moving services and freight services.
Moving services are generally provided by household moving companies. While these companies typically only offer full household or office moves, they may do smaller shipments such as individual pieces of furniture or appliances.
Sometimes customers don’t have a lot of items to move, or they want to send a small portion of their move to a different destination than the one they’re moving to. In such cases, Shipping Connections has you covered.
If you have a small or partial move, you can have the items placed in a pod and shipped to their new home or storage shed. Or if you have a very small move, say a dozen or two boxes plus a small piece of furniture, you can have the items placed on pallets and stretch wrapped, then sent via two or three day air for a very reasonable price.
Moving Services
Moving services are generally provided by residential moving companies. While these companies typically only offer full residential or office moves, they may do smaller shipments such as individual pieces of furniture or appliances.

Shipping Services
Freight service is another way to ship large household goods. While most freight shipments are for commercial goods, freight services are available to anyone looking to ship a large item.
The most important thing to remember when shipping your household good by freight is that you will need to properly package your item for shipment. This usually means that you will have to crate or palletize your shipment. Your freight company may offer you this service or can refer you to a packaging company. If you are feeling ambitious, you can palletize freight yourself.
Freight services usually do not include loading, unloading, inside pickup or delivery, but you can usually request these services from your freight company.
Staging
Staging a home simply means that you leave a few items of furniture here and there plus some other items to make it look more like a home than an impersonal, empty box. This helps your home to sell more quickly and at a better price for you, the seller. A white glove moving service can take care of the whole process for you, properly packaging your valuables and taking extra care when moving them.
